One of the rules of business is that anything you can buy, you can most likely rent it too. Transport car hauler rentals are a booming part of the auto transport industry.
When people are seeking a transport car hauler rental, they are usually thinking of smaller, two or three car haulers. The large open or enclosed multi-car carriers used in the transport industry are not a practical rental item because customers would rarely have more than one or two cars to be hauled. The do it yourself movement has encouraged people to consider transporting their own cars. By renting a two car hauler, a person can drive both cars to a new home at the same time.
There are several business applications for transport car hauler rentals. With the increased use of the internet for car sales, there is often a need for delivery of a car to a distance buyer. A decade ago, long distance sales of vehicles was rare, but today, it is a booming industry. The conditions of long distance sales differ from sale to sale. In some the seller delivers and in others the buyer must pick up, but both require a transport.
Many of the trailer rental companies, such as U-Haul have car trailers for rent also. So, the idea of hauling vehicles is catching on, but at the same time, the car transport industry is growing and streamlining its operations to the point that car hauler rentals are not actually resulting in such a substantial savings. If this is truly the case, why would rentals be increasing?
One reason is obviously the increased use of the internet. As was already mentioned, distance sales are on the rise as online car sales sites grow. Also, the availability of rental haulers can be advertised online and reach a much wider audience. It seems that those that are in the business of hauler rental have been quicker to become aware of the advertising potential of the internet.
The other reason for increased auto rentals though is the one that should be of more concern to the auto transport industry. The industry needs to get the word out even more. The internet is a tool that they can use as well. There is a need for increased public awareness of the advances in auto transport and the favorable comparison of transport and self-driving due to skyrocketed gasoline prices.
